UMEA Sports Committee Inspects Kasawo Islamic SS ahead of 2019 games

The Uganda Muslim Education Association (UMEA) Solidarity Games organizing committee has inspected Kasawo Islamic school to assess whether it has the facilities that meet the minimum standards to host the games.

The committee led by Chairman Hajji Twahil Kiteezaala paid a visit to Kasawo Islamic SS, Mukono to check on the school’s readiness to host the 2019 Games.

The guided tour was conducted by Kasawo SS Director Hajji Kajaya Qasim as they inspected playgrounds, accommodation and secretariat among other key areas to be used during the Games slated for Easter period.

The visit was a continuation of the initial journey last year that saw the UMEA Sports Committee also pay a visit of the school with emphasis on play grounds, involvement of the community and security.

On his visit to Kasawo Islamic SS to check on their readiness for hosting the 2019 edition of the UMEA Solidarity games.  Hajji Kiteezaala the committee chairman confirmed  to Sports ocean  that  this year’s edition is expected to attract more than fifty schools with One thousand five hundred participating students anticipated to take part competing in disciplines like football, volleyball, netball, badminton, table tennis and handball.

Am pleased with the efforts by the school to renovate and fix the mess but he urged to them to increase the speed so as to finish on time before the deadline.

“I am impressed with the efforts of Kasawo Islamic School administration has put to improve the standards of the pitches even though this ought to have been done long ago,” Kiteezala said.

“These facilities benefit you as the school, UMEA organizing committee is insisting on this because it’s what will build our brand and raise the level of professionalism in the country,” he added.

However, the Director of the host school Hajji Kajaya couldn’t hide his excitement for the opportunity to host such prestigious competitions.

“We are glad that we were granted the opportunity to host the 2019 edition of the UMEA Solidarity Games. We are set to receive any number of schools and participants because we have all what it takes to host the Games,” said Hajji Kajaya

It is our dream to see the Games played under good conditions and we shall beat the deadline as per the committees is finds.

The delegation that travelled to Kawaso for inspection had; Hajji TwahilKiteezaala (Chairman-UMEA Sports Committee), Hajji Hussein LwembawoKyagulanyi (General Secretary UMEA Sports Committee),  Hajji NdugwaBadru (Member UMEA Sports Committee and Executive Secretary of the Wakiso Secondary Schools Head Teachers’ Association-WAKISSHA), Hajji NtegeSabweAbdallah (Committee Member UMEA/ Executive Secretary UMTA).

Meanwhile, Bulo parents’ and Kawempe Muslims are the defending champions in Football boys and girls respectively, Mbogo mixed are for Table tennis both boys and girls, Kibuli secondary in Badminton both boys and girls, Kinawa High and Mbogo mixed in Volleyball boys and girls respectively, Kibuli secondary in Handball both girls and boys, while Ngando Wamala ss in Netball and Overall is Kibuli secondary school.
