Vipers SC vs CS Sfaxien (Tunisia)
Tunisian side Club Sportif Sfaxien set foot on Ugandan soil on Thursday ahead of their CAF Confederations Cup, Pre-group first leg tie against Vipers SC at the St Mary’s stadium, Kitende this Saturday. The visitors’ coach Ruud Krol was impressed by the climate despite being his first time in the Pearl of Africa. “It is the first time I am in Uganda but the weather is beautiful.

Vipers are a good team and it will be a difficult game but we can make a good result in Uganda,” noted Krol, who is worried of the artificial Kitende turf. “We play at grass and not used to artificial turf but we shall try to get the result,” he added. Vipers skipper Tadeo Lwanga believes the Saturday clash will call for the best from them, but he is optimistic they will make use of the home advantage despite carrying the ‘underdogs’ tag. “We are at home and we must give out fans the best. Sfaxien is a big club and will give us hard time. But we are ready to get the result,” noted the inspirational midfielder, who returned from injury against Onduparaka on Tuesday after missing three games. Unlike Vipers that are at this stage for the first time, Sfaxien have won this competition three times –with the latest being in 2013 and lost on the final in 2010.
