CAA FC WINS ENTEBBE AIRPORT LEAGUE

CAA football team celebrates with the trophy and a cow they won

Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) was on Friday crowned
the 2018 Entebbe Airport Stakeholders’ Football League champions after defeating Protea FC 2-1 at Entebbe Airport playground. The tournament that attracted 14 teams kicked off last year in April.

Moses Mugwanya gave CAA half time lead but Protea FC equalized through Isaac Palumu after the break.

CAA’s talisman and league top scorer (7 goals) Steven Serubiri scored the winner for the side that saw off Mogas FC at the semifinal. In the third place play-off match, Mogas FC defeated Aviation police FC 1-0.

The champions received a trophy, cow and cash worth Shs300,000 while runners up Protea FC got a goat and Shs 200,000. The second runners up received a goat.

Mogas FC goal keeper Sam Ariku emerged the best goal keeper. Emmanuel Kasaga, the founder of Airport Football League revealed that they will start the Airport Netball league this year which will run concurrently with the football league.

Tom Byarugaba, the Chairperson of Entebbe Airport Football League said that they intend to have 20 teams participating from 14 in the next edition.
