Stanbic Uganda Cup

Tuesday, 4pm

Vipers SC vs Kansai Plascon, Kitende

Fresh from their commendable barren home stalemate against Tunisian side CS Sfaxien in the CAF Confederation Cup play-off stage, first leg at Kitende, Vipers SC turn guns against FUFA Big league side Kansai Plascon this Tuesday in the 2018/19 Stanbic Uganda Cup Round of 32 tie.

The Venoms beat similar side at quarter final last season final before they went on to lose 1-0 at KCCA in the final.

Dan Serunkuma scored the only goal in Mukono that enabled Vipers to storm semi final stage.

Ahead of the evening tie, the 2016 champions welcome back defender Halid Lwaliwa from injury, who may replace Livingstone Mulondo –most likely to be rested ahead of the Sfaxien return leg this Saturday.

Asiku Bashir and Brian Nkubi are doubtful while Aggrey Madoi, Tom Masiko, Rahmat Senfuka, U19 teenager Joseph Byaruhanga and Tembo Ibrahim are likely to start.

Vipers are camped at St. Mary’s stadium, Kitende ahead of the Tunisia trip, according to Sandra Awori, the club media officer.

The reigning league champions will hope to use the Kansai Plascon tie as a precursor before they set off for the CAF Confederation return leg against Sfaxien.
