Mbarara City have remained poor travelers this season despite a remarkable StarTimes Uganda premier league first round run. The Ankole Lions, who are left with an away clash at Vipers SC to bring down first round curtains, are third on log with 27 points after 14 games with only one victory away victory out of six fixtures. Mbarara City travel visit BUL FC at FUFA technical center, Njeru this Wednesday in this season’s Stanbic Uganda cup round of 32, having ejected Maroons at the previous stage following a 4-3 home penalty shoot outs after a goalless draw. Whereas the Livingstone Mbabazi side won 1-0 in the league clash this season at Kakyeka stadium, courtesy of Paul Mucureezi goal, the best BUL have gotten off Mbarara City is a draw in the past three meetings where the latter have won twice. After a 2-2 home league draw at Nyamityobora last timeout, BUL FC head coach Peter Onen, whose side lies 5th on league table, will seek solace in Uganda Cup against a side that convincingly saw off Kirinya Jinja SSS 3-0 at home. Mbarara was stopped by eventual winners KCCA FC last season at round of 64 while BUL, who only won 3 of the 8 home games this season, fell to regional league side (Kampala Junior Team) KJT at this stage. In other games, 9-time winners SC Villa take on lower league side Nkambi Coffee at familiar Masaka recreational grounds. The struggling Jogoos are 13th on the 16-team league table, but are the favorites despite playing away from home. Abdullah Muburi’s Police FC are the other premier league side in action –as they travel to Yumbe to face Calvary FC at Midigo grounds. Big league side Kitara FC is away to U-touch at Pece stadium, Gulu while Bukedea Town council visit Free Stars at Bishops SSS, Mukono.
