Kasawo Islamic SSS to host 2019 UMEA Games

Kasawo Muslim SSS was confirmed the 2019 UMEA games hosts on Tuesday

Kasawo Islamic Secondary School, Mukono were on Tuesday cleared to host the 2019 Uganda Muslim Education Association (UMEA) secondary schools Solidarity Games. The announcement was made at the UMEA offices in Kibuli. Kasawo Islamic was nominated during last year’s edition at Nkoma SSS in Mbale and given the flag for hosting the Games. The organizing committee visited the school facilities on three occasions before approving them as hosts, according to UMEA Secretary General Hajji Abubakar Kakembo. He confirmed guaranteed that Kasawo are capable of hosting the event, saying that the organizing committee has critically observed Kasawo Islamic facilities before making the decision. “Our committee visited Kasawo three times and found out that the school is capable of hosting the event this year. We are much convinced that they have the capacity to host the schools,” noted Kakembo. Kasawo Islamic school director, Hajji Khassim Kajaya hailed the organizing Committee for granting his school the opportunity to host the Games. “We thank the committee for receiving our application and honoring us the chance to host UMEA solidarity Games this year.  We promise to make the best preparations with the guidance of Allah,” he said.  The event is for Muslim founded schools in Uganda and will run from 19th to 22nd April, 2019.  Bulo Parents and Kawempe Muslim are the male and female football defending champions respectively, Mbogo mixed won both the male and female table tennis, Kibuli SSS won both girls and boys badminton, Kinawa High school and Mbogo mixed won the Girls and Boys handball respectively while Ngando Wamala SS won the netball title. Kibuli SSS were however crowned the overall champions.
