Team Zama unimpressive At FNL

FNL players receive cash from Tuskr Lite

Match day eight of the eighth Tusker Lite Friday Night Lights (FNL) basketball season was played last weekend at Panamera Bar –with the fans enjoying a cocktail of the hoops game and lots of entertainment courtesy of Tusker Lite. After a long festive break, Team Zama (headlined by latest national icon Jamila Nansikombi) and Team Fahmy tipped off proceedings before seven games followed. Team Zama became prey to Fahmy’s side 15-21. Team Zama, who are the table leaders then lost their final match to Team Flirsh 7-12 to compound a miserable outing for them. Team Zama is without their skipper Jamila Nansikombi who is yet to feature due to other engagements and reported fatigue. Team Zama has now lost just three games in 10 outings and still remains a threat albeit the recent collapse. Team Fahmy who had three games on card, beat Team Kikiri 18-14 but painfully lost to Team Enabu 18-17 in their final game of the night. Three-time champions Team Ikong (led by Joseph Ikong from Betway Power) had a very fruitful outing beating Team Josh and Team Madol 15-12 and 17-11 respectively. Ikong led his side to glory in 2011, 2012, 2014 and could still return to glory. Team Otim (then captained by Jonah Otim) are defending champions but made no show in this year’s edition. This year’s edition of FNL basketball is played on a 3*3 format with each team expected to have eight players in their roster. Also, there must be a female team player on court for each team. Goodies and free flowing beer are always gifted to players courtesy of the league sponsors.
