KCCA will attempt to maintain lead at the top of the premier league when they host Onduparaka this Tuesday at the StarTimes stadium, Lugogo. The hosts were held to a barren away stalemate by Mbarara City last time out whilst Vipers SC’s 1-0 home win at Kirinya Jinja SSS cut the point gap to three. KCCA know that any further slips may be fatal –as they tackle Onduparaka. The Caterpillars are 6th on log with 25 points after 16 games, 7 below leaders KCCA FC. KCCA, who won the reverse fixture 2-0 in Arua, continue to endure the absence of head coach Mike Mutebi who is serving his second game of the four-match ban by FUFA. Onduparaka’s Muhamud Hassan faces late fitness test while Solomon Okwalinga returns from bereavement leave after his dad’s death. Kabon Livingstone, Bida Ezra and Gadaffi Wahab remain on the sidelines. Captain Rashid Toha, who scored away at Bright Stars last time out to secure a point for the West Nile side, knows what exactly the task is at Lugogo. “We know it is not going to be an easy game but I think we will get a positive result. We respect them, but we are going there for three points,” noted the center back. KCCA assistant coach Morley Byekwaso says that Onduparaka is a big team and his side has to be at their best especially in defense. KCCA welcome back Jackson Nunda and Mustafa Kizza from injury while lead striker Patrick Kaddu returns from suspension. Sadam Juma and Gift Ali are still sidelined. Meanwhile Vipers SC raid Nyamityobora in Kakyeka seeking to keep pressure on KCCA. The Venoms are second on log, 3 points adrift of leaders while the Abanyakale are third from bottom –with a possibility of jumping from relegation zone with a win to interchange position with 13th placed SC Villa. Vipers will have no suspended Ibrahim Kiyemba while Moses Waiswa did not make the trip to Mbarara. Joseph Janjali and Yayo Lutimba return to the squad while new signing Hamis Kiiza from Ethiopia’s Fasil Kenema is likely to make his debut.
