KCCA FC duo Mike Mutebi and Allan Okello and Heathens rugby FC’s Michael Wokorach have revealed how they are happy to be named the best, as Real Stars sports agency crowned their best of last December in a function held this week at Khalifah Executive suits, Bugolobi. Mutebi was named the best football coach of the month whilst Okello clinching the best footballer’s award. Wokorach meanwhile was crowned the best of the month in rugby. According to Mutebi, away from the cash prize that comes with awards, the awards are unique and far inspiring. “These awards are unique; they have the winner’s photo and are more attractive. I am told sports journalists are behind these awards and I want to thank them for such an inspiring initiative. The award looks better than even this we win at the Airtel-FUFA awards –I like it,” noted Mutebi, who retained the best football coach award after winning it in November. Mutebi beat Livingstone Mbabazi (Mbarara City) and Sam Ssimbwa (URA) to the accolade. For Okello, who beat Bashir Mutanda (SC Villa) and Mike Kawoya (Tooro united), it was the first time he lifts a monthly award. “The award will motivate me to work even harder. It is the first monthly award I have won in my career and I want to thank the organisers so much,” noted the exciting KCCA FC play maker. Heathens’ Wokorach says that the award is not only his, but Heathens rugby FC as a whole. “I am happy that my efforts have been recognised. As the skipper, I did my work in December to see the club unbeaten throughout, but we work as a team for the results,” he said. The Rugby Cranes star beat Joseph Aredo (Betway Kobs) and Henry Musisi (Warriors) to the award. The Real Stars monthly sports are organised by Real Stars sports agency and are sponsored by Jude colour solutions, Khalifah suits and Victory school of beauty. Real Stars sports agency CEO Isac Mukasa says that they look into detailed stats of each nominee to zero on the winner. “We are still looking for resources to expand to all the recognised and active sports in the country. Slowly, with funds allowing, we shall get there because we are looking for reputable partners,” he said.
