FUFA emphasizes Transparency as Judicial Bodies are inducted

FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo has a vision to see Uganda become the number one footballing nation in Africa on and off the pitch. According to him, that will come with several aspects. In a bid to attain the aforementioned vision, FUFA through its Mission of developing, promoting and protecting wants to ensure the preserve on the values through regulations. On Saturday, the Federation held a one-day retreat for the different judicial bodies at Imperial Royale Hotel aimed at inducting the several committees whilst having FUFA Legal Committee and Players Status Committee members go through orientation. Magogo, who was the main Instructor, emphasized transparency to the different committees when executing their duties. “In order to uphold the ethics of the game, we need strong judicial bodies that are impartial, transparent and committees. As FUFA we shall give the judicial bodies necessary support. Those that are found guilty must be put to book while the innocent ones need to be given their liberty to serve football again,” noted Magogo, who is a FIFA Instructor and CAF Executive Committee Member. He added that: “Judicial bodies are supposed to provide fast and fair justice to football stakeholders. We are also supposed to protect the game against vices like predetermination of results, hooliganism and corruption.” Counsel Diana Nabuuso, the chairperson of the FUFA Appeals Committee believes the retreat was important for different committees to know their roles in a bid to protect the game by upholding the ethics and law favour. Former Uganda Cranes player, Dan Obote who is a member on the Dispute Resolution chamber promised to ensure players’ disputes settled amicably. The FUFA Judicial bodies were set up following a decision at last year and 94th General Assembly in Kabale following the expiry previous bodies’ term.
