Uganda Cubs set for residential camp in Njeru

The National U17 side (Uganda Cubs) technical team summoned a 30-man squad ahead of the 13th AFCON U17 Finals due April 14-28 this year in Tanzania. The summoned squad starts preparations with a training camp at FUFA technical center, Njeru before flying out to Turkey next month for an intentional tournament in Antalya. According to FUFA, the camp starts this Monday while the Turkey camp is set for March 1-10. All summoned players come from the FUFA developmental Juniors League with exception of defender Kiddawalime Saul from Super Cubs. The Cubs, who lost 2-0 away to Burundi U20 side in the recent friendly last month, qualified for their maiden continental showpiece after emerging winners of the Total CECAFA U17 Zonal Qualifiers after a 3-1 win over Ethiopia in the final at the National Stadium, Dar es Salaam in Tanzania.

The squad:

Goal keepers: Oyo Delton (Kirinya Jinja SS), Jack Komaketch (Ndejje University), Ssemwogerere Daniel (Bright Stars) and Sinalya Ben (Express)

Rest of  the Squad: Kevin Ssekimbegga (Express), Ibrahim Juma (KCCA), Kasozi Samson (Bright Stars), Kizito Mugweri Gavin (Vipers SC), John Rogers (Onduparaka), Kiddawalime Saul (Super Cubs), Wasswanga Shafik (Ndejje University), Opira Innocent (Ndejje University), Ekellot Ibrahim (KCCA), Ssekajja Davis (Bright Stars), Ziraba Ronnie (Express), Kakaire Thomas (Bright Stars), Mwaka Polycarp (Kirinya Jinja SS FC), Opaala Edwine Mukisa (Kirinya Jinja SS FC), John Kokas Alou (URA FC), Mukisa Owen (BUL), Jarieko James (Paidha Black Angels), Asaba Ivan (Vipers SC), Surundu Ibrahim (KCCA), Najib Yiga (Vipers SC), Yasin Abdu Owane (Vipers SC), Mugulusi Isma (Kirinya Jinja SS FC), Lubega Derrick (Express), Mugisha Rogers (Mbarara City), Abdul Wahid Iddi (Onduparaka), Kakande Shafic (Bright Stars).
