Livingstone Mbabazi leads Mbarara City FC against his former bosses Onduparaka FC this Tuesday as the two sides from the West and West Nile region respectively clash in the StarTimes Premier League at Kakyeka stadium, Mbarara. Arguably the two most supported Premier league clubs currently, both have legislators at the helm; with Hon. Mwine Mpaka (Western Youth) as Mbarara City chairman and Bernard Atiku (Ayivu County) as the Onduparaka Patron. Whereas the hosts are yet to lose in the league this calendar year, the visitors are searching for their first 2019 league victory at a venue where they lost 1-0 last season courtesy of Emmanuel Ibe Obina controversial penalty. The two sides meet for the fourth time –with Mbarara City, who are unbeaten at home this season, managing one win and two stalemates from the previous three meetings. Mbabazi held Onduparaka to barren draw in January on his first return to Green light stadium since switching sides. The Ankole Lions finished the game reduced to nine after two red cards to striker Karim Ndugwa and goal keeper Ali Kimera. Mbarara City have not lost at home this season and have scored 9 in the 10 games at Kakyeka. They are also yet to concede in their four second round games with goal keeper Ali Kimera last conceding in 2018. Paul Mucureezi has been a revelation at Mbarara City –nothing 5 goals and 7 assists at home, but Onduparaka Coach Sadic Sempigi expects a hard fight for positive results. “We have trained well and the spirits are high. We are fighting hard to get back to winning ways. I know it will not be an easy game but we have worked on finishing in most of our training drills as we hope to work as a team to score goals,” he noted. Abel Eturude is expected to return but Oscar Agaba, Simba Sabir and Livingstone Kabon remain out injured. The Caterpillars are 7th on log with 27 points, 9 behind third placed Ankole Lions from as many games. KCCA lead the table with 44 points, 6 above second placed and champions Vipers SC.
