Tooro United’s Wasswa Bbosa and Joel Mutakubwa have been named the January Real Stars Sports Awards best coach and player respectively.
This was the fourth edition of these monthly awards organised by Real Stars Sports Agency and sponsored by Top Boy promotions company, Victory school of beauty and Jude Colour solutions. In a function held at Khalifah Executive suits, Bugolobi on Monday, the duo were credited for their consistency during the month (January) which helped Tooro United sail through unbeaten in the league and also eject holders KCCA FC from this season’s Stanbic Uganda Cup in penalties at the round of 32.
According to Isac Mukasa, the Real Stars Sports Agency Executive President, Bbosa guided Tooro United to maximum points out of the three league games before dumping out KCCA from Uganda Cup while Mutakubwa did not concede in the three league games and saved three penalties as Tooro ejected KCCA FC at Buhinga stadium, Fort Portal.
“We look at the statistics and due to resources, we consider three sports at a time but hope to expand with more partners on board,” noted Mukasa.
Bbosa beat Peter Onen (BUL FC) and Livingstone Mbabazi (Mbarara City) to the crown while Mutakubwa saw off competition from Hilary Mukundane (Mbarara City) and Juma Balinya (Police).
The special guests were Henry Zimbe, the Jude Colour solutions promotions manager and Asuman Lubowa (Ndejje University Technical Director), who formerly worked as FUFA Technical Director and Uganda Cranes Coach.
New partners Top Boy promotions were represented by company director Phillip Munaabi.
