Uganda Cranes and KCCA FC legend Jackson ‘Mia Mia’ Mayanja will start his work as Kyetume head coach this Thursday as his side hosts second bottom Kataka FC in the FUFA Big league at Nakisunga Ssaza grounds. Today’s tie will officiated by experienced referee Robert Donney, assisted by Robson Atusinguza and Noah Friday respectively. The CAF A licensed coach was appointed as Alex Isabirye replacement last week after the latter joined struggling Premier league side Nyamityobora. Mayanja returns to active coaching since 2017 when he parted ways with Tanzania side Simba SC. He will be working with Allan Kabonge (also joins from Entebbe FC) and both coaches watched Kyetume’s goalless draw against JMC Hippos in Jinja last time out. According to Kabonge, it is a great opportunity to work with a legend like Mayanja and it will be a learning curve for him. Mayanja won two league and Cup titles with KCCA (KCC) as a player as well as three Cecafa titles with the Cranes. Kyetume are second on Elgon group log with 23 points, six adrift of unbeaten leaders Wakiso Giants after 13 games, and just a point above third placed Doves All Stars.
