Kirinya Jinja SSS will miss their most-influential striker Joel Madondo this Saturday as they face struggling Nyamityobora in the Premier league at the Mighty Arena, Jinja.
The striker scored one of the two goals as the ‘Students’ inflicted a 2-1 loss TO Mbarara City last Tuesday but was unfortunate to receive his third caution of the season.
In his absence, Coach Abbey Kikomeko, who is looking to impress the decision-makers and cement the permanent job, will look at Fred Amaku, Geoffrey Mubiru, former Nyamityobora striker Yusuf Abato and Faisal Muwawu who has just returned from Malaysia.
The youthful tactician helped the team achieve topflight status three years ago but was forced aside for Alex Isabirye –currently Nyamityobora head coach because of minimum qualifications. He returned to replace Isabirye at the middle of the 2016-17 as the team struggled in the red zone and ably saved them from the chop.
However, Kikomeko, who is now fully CAF B licensed, shows respect to Isabirye in all fronts but not on the pitch. Isabirye, whose permanent stay at Nyamityobora depends on their chances of survival, is hopeful that they can grab maximum points from his former home ground.
Kirinya is 10th on the table with 27 points while their opponents were second from bottom with 13 with nine games to go.
