Uganda premier league broadcasters StarTimes will make their flood lights broadcast debut this Wednesday as SC Villa host Kirinya Jinja SSS at Namboole stadium. It will be the first league game to be played under flood lights in Uganda’s history and soccer fans are eager to witness the feat. SC Villa are coming off a 4-2 away loss to leaders KCCA at Lugogo whilst Jinja SSS beat Nyamityobora 2-1 at home. “It is our first game on flood lights for some of us and it is a historical moment for us. We are ready to fight hard and not make bad history,” noted Joel Madondo, the Jinja SSS lead scorer with 11 goals. The striker returns after missing the last game due to suspension. Jinja SSS have faced the 16-time record champions five times; wining once, two draws and losing twice. The only win came in 2017 when current Coach Abbey Bogere Kikomeko was in charge. Whereas goal keeper Sanon Mulabi is eager to face former bosses, the visitors will be without Emanuel Rubangakene and Julius Debbo, who are with their South Sudan national U23 team. The two sides played to a 2-all draw in first round. SC Villa are 12th while Jinja SSS are 8th after 22 games.
