Team Window were crowned the winners of the St Mary’s College, Kisubi (SMACK) football league that climaxed on Sunday at Legends rugby grounds, Naguru.

The league is played by SMACK alumni that are three years after graduating from University. The 2018/2019 league started way back in July last year and was played every after a fortnight at Legends grounds. Team Window are a class of 2003 SMACK Alumni and they won the title with 37 points, 4 above second placed Vikings after 16 outings. 18 teams took part in the just concluded league –an increase of two teams from the previous edition. “The league has been on for only two years but it has rapidly grown. We meet as SMACK old students to see how we can lift each other and also connect for business purposes. We also do Corporate social responsibility in vulnerable communicates as well aiding our Old Boys and Girls financially, who could be going through hard times,” explained Moses Tumusiime, the league organising committee Chairman. Tumusiime added that away from the winners’ title and other individual awards of excellence, the best fan, smartest team and best host per outing received respective awards. Ronald Mugalu, the SMACK sports and games teacher hailed the old students for the league initiative and urged them to grace the John Chrysostom (JC) Kiwanuka gala to interact, motivate and guide current students. JC Kiwanuka (RIP) is a historical mathematics teacher at SMACK, who taught for over 50 years. To crown the winners, the SMACK Alumni were treated to splendid Irene Ntale performance.
