Pepsi University football league
UCU 0-0 KU
Uganda Christian University (UCU) were held to a goalless draw by two-time champions Kampala University (KU) on Tuesday in the 2019 Pepsi University football league group D tie in Mukono. UCU were reduced to 10 men in the 27th minute after Lubega Mohammed was shown a straight red card for a harsh challenge on KU’s Aleper John Bosco. However, UCU still dominated the game and enjoyed large spells of possession albeit failure to convert the numerous chances. Although both teams walk away with a point from the game, Kampala University will be more pleased. Both Coaches were left frustrated with the inability to score this season. “It was a truly frustrating game. We played well but were unable to convert our possession into goals,” UCU’s Coach Mwera Jimmy said. “It was a tough game. We came here knowing that UCU were going to be hard side to beat. Though I wanted a win, a draw is good enough,” KU’s Coach Tumusiime Vincent said.
Two-time winners Makerere University Business School (MUBS) remain top of group D with 4 points after two games as KU and UCU follow in second and third respectively with 2 points from as many games. International University of East Africa (IUEA) are bottom with a point.
