After three winless outings in the Pepsi University football league, International University of East Africa (IUEA) have sacked their coach Dorian Ntambi, who left the debutants at the foot of group D with just a point. The Kansanga-based University on Monday unveiled Police FC Assistant Coach Pius Ngabo as the new head coach on an interim basis. He will be assisted by Dennis Latim and Yusuf Bbaale. “We have talent but were looking for a strategist –who is the coach. We believe that the new coach can guide to winning ways and possibly get out of the group to knockout stage. We strive to become a sports hub and to live the dream, the University will soon start offering full scholarships to sportsmen especially footballers,” noted Michael Muhimbura, the IUEA Dean of Students. For Ngabo, the new job will come with challenges, but he is ready for the task. “I watched them lose to MUBS but am not quite well versed with the squad. It is my first training (Monday) and we shall assess after days on training. We want to play entertaining good football and also win,” noted the former Lubiris SS, Buwekula and Express FC assistant Coach. IUEA host Uganda Christian University (UCU) next Wednesday in Ngabo’s first game in charge.
