Moses Waiswa scored for Uganda Cranes in the 15th minute before Tall equalized in the 79th minute as Uganda Cranes settled for a 1-1 draw with Egyptian top flight side El Gaish in a practice match on Wednesday.
The Cranes are currently in Egypt for a training camp at the Tolip Hotel and Spa Ismaila Forsan Island training complex ahead of the last Group L AFCON Egypt 2019 qualifiers against Tanzania in Dar Es Salaam on Sunday.
Prior to the Wednesday trail game, Cranes head coach Sebastien Desabre said that the match was to assess players’ fitness and continue to work on some principles in line with Sunday game.
And after, the French tactician expressed concern with his side’s finishing –saying that they will have to work on that before taking on Taifa Stars.
Meanwhile, Skipper Denis Onyango has urged his Cranes teammates to fight for victory on Sunday so as to finish the campaign on the high.
“It is the East African derby but we have to finish on the high. We want to finish unbeaten and without conceding. The good thing there is no concern in camp and everybody is working hard impress the coach,” noted the Mamelodi Sundowns goal keeper.
Uganda leads group L with 13 points after 5 games as the only side from the group that already qualified. Lesotho are second with 5 points, bettering third placed Tanzania by head to head while Cape Verde are at the foot with 4 points.
