Kabira football tournament returns big and better

The 2019 tournament was launched on Friday

The second edition of the Kabira Country club football tournament was officially launched on Friday with 20 teams expected to grace the one-day competition due March 31 at Kabira country club football grounds.

Rakesh Hurrychurn, the Kabira Country club General Manager believes that the tournament will create a network among the corporate companies and also help in promoting football. “We are delighted that we are to have our second edition of the Kabira football tournament and I can assure everyone that we shall have a better event than the previous one. I believe the competition will also help in promoting football, creating a network with the Corporate world and also help the participants healthy wise,” noted Rakesh. Only six players will be allowed to play albeit unlimited substitutions.

A substitute is allowed to comeback on the pitch but players with FUFA licenses will not participate. The winner has a trophy and Shs1m at stake while the runners up will get Shs500,000 whilst the second runners up getting Shs300,000. Team Pro zone were last year’s winners having defeated Victoria University 1-0 in the final at the same venue. The twenty teams have been grouped are below; (Group A) Kabira Country club, Hash security A, Kitunga Alumini, Yali Uganda, 102.1 FUFA FM (Group B) Premier Advertising, Pan Afric FC, Hisense, Marcos Legends, Top bloggers Uganda (Group C) Dream Chasers, Pink Tie, Falcons, Speke Hotel, Bishops FC (Group D) Team Pro zone, Kings Way, MLS FC, Hash Security B and a the team that will register last.
