First daughter Natasha Museveni Karugire on Sunday evening graced the first games of the 2019 Uganda national basketball calendar played at the MTN Arena, Lugogo.

There were four games on card and it was a FUBA Lower League (LL) – Divisions One and Two engagements.

Natasha arrived for the last game of the night between Lubowa based RezLife Basketball Club and UPDF Tomahawks. UPDF won 58-63 after a strong come back.

Donned in tight attire with UPDF gestures on atop, Natasha greeted players and took pictures with them later along with math officials and FUBA (Federation of Uganda Basketball Associations) delegates, led by the federation president Nasser Sserunjogi.

She later sat at court side cheering on the UPDF outfit that was level 19-all in the first quarter and trailing 34-32 by halftime.

In the third quarter, UPDF trailed again 50-45 before their captain Moses Muhumuza inspired the side to launch a spirited come back to win 58-63.

“It was a very tough game for us. We believed in ourselves and in the last minutes we were determined to take it all. It was also a pleasure for the first daughter to watch the army team win their first game of the season,” noted UPDF skipper Muhumuza.
