KU vs MUBS, Villa Park
International University of East Africa (IUEA) will be hoping to bag first win of the Pepsi University football league when they host Uganda Christian University (UCU) this Wednesday in Kansanga.
Whereas IUEA are winless, the visitors will be seeking to consolidate their group D lead, having climbed to the summit with a 4-0 home win over the same opponents in the first round last week in Mukono.
IUEA are coming into their fourth fixture of the season under new coach Pius Ngabo, who was unveiled as Dorian Ntambi replacement last week by IUEA Dean of students Michael Muhimbira.
Ntambi left the debutants at the foot of the group with just a point –something Ngabo, together with his new assistants Dennis Latim and Yusuf Bbale look forward to alter.
“I watched them lose to MUBS but am not quite well versed with the squad. We want to play entertaining good football and also win,” noted Ngabo, who hopes to have a winning start at IUEA despite predicting a turf encounter.
UCU Coach Jimmy Mwera knows that he is facing a different side from that he smashed last week.
“It’s not going to be an easy game but we shall do our best to win it. They will be playing from home and under a new coach. We shall do our best to get a good result,” Mwera said, adding that last week’s victory boosted his side’s confidence.
UCU and MUBS lead group D with joint 5 points; with the former having a 3-goal advantage at the top after three games.
KU are third with 3 points whilst IUEA sitting bottom with just a point. The Pepsi-sponsored league continues this Thursday with former champions Kampala University (KU) hosting Makerere University Business School (MUBS) at Villa Park in their return leg after settling for a barren stalemate in the first leg at Nakawa.
