After winning the WMARA kick boxing title in Florida, Titus Tugume, one of Uganda’s top kick boxers, has vowed to win all his other forthcoming fights this year.
Tugume defeated America’s Drew Deez to win a belt in the main fight that preceded a month-long instructors’ course organised by Ru Camp Kaleo in USA.

“I was invited by the Fight League International Kick Boxing Federation as the belt contender in the main fight. I fought Deez in a semi-contact fight. My next fight will be in May in Rwanda against an Egyptian as we try to promote the sport in that (Rwanda) country,” noted Tugume soon after his arrival at Entebbe Airport on Thursday.
The UPDF fighter said that after the fight, he underwent a one-month instructors’ course where he learnt different tricks and techiniques applicable in the ring in order to score in the different fight styles.
“I got the certificate and I’m going to pass on the knowledge because I’m also a coach and trainer with Kampala University (KU). I’m going to continue training upcoming young boys since I’m aging and the sport has to continue growing. But I’m still fighting and have many fights this year including one in Tokyo and Spain. I urge government, companies and individuals to continue supporting us so that we take this sport to another level,” added Tugume added, who was sponsored to the US by one of his training partner Fred Muwema, Auto Spa, Middle East Consultancy and individuals led by Brian White (Brian Kirumira) through Brian White Foundation.
