Uganda Lady Rugby Cranes will open their Hong Kong Sevens campaign this Thursday against rivals Kenya Lionesses. Uganda has struggled to match Kenya in Women’s 15s and 7s which cuts across to men’s sides too. Unlike Uganda, the Kenyan team has been engaged in intensive drills and buildups –which gives them better odds ahead of the encounter. On the contrary, Uganda Lady Rugby Cranes had no serious buildups as the rugby union opted for a residential camp. “There were no buildup games for the team so I asked for a residential camp. I believe that the trainings we had will help us,’ Uganda’s Coach Helen Koyokoyo Buteme revealed. Hours after the Kenya game, Uganda will face Papua New Guinea before being playing Hong Kong . While in Uganda, the team was training at Kings Park Stadium Bweyogere: home to top flight outfit Stanbic Black Pirates. They were residing at Allianz Hotel in Bweyogere.
