Kampala province continued with their disappointing winless run in the 2019 FUFA Drum tournament following their 2-0 away loss to Tooro at St Paul national seminary, Kabarole on Saturday in their second fixture of the campaign.
The Wasswa Bbosa side that was ejected at the quarter finals stage last year in the inaugural competition fell 1-0 to Rwenzori in their opening group A fixture.
Ndejje University’s Mustapher Anwar justified his Man of the match performance with a brace for the hosts that drew 1-1 away to Busoga last timeout.
Elsewhere, defending champions Buganda province edged Sebei 2-1 in Kapchorwa for their second consecutive win with Kyetume FC’s Robert Sentongo bagging a brace. Denis Cherwoto scored the home side’s consolation while his teammate and Admin FC player Isaac Doka was named the Man of the match –a feat that comes with a plaque and Shs100,000 cash prize. In Hoima, hosts Bunyoro were 2-1 losers to Acholi at Kigaya Primary school.
Vipers SC forward Tito Okello netted a brace for the visitors while Mbarara City’s Brian Ahebwa netted for the home side that had beaten West Nile 2-1 on road on the opening round. Vipers SC and Acholi goal keeper Derrick Ochan heroics headlined the victory and was named Man of the match.

After losing 1-0 away to Buganda in the opener, Lango bounced back with the most vibrant win as they beat Ankole 3-1 in Lira at full to capacity UTC grounds. KCCA skipper Timothy Awany and Amuka Bright Stars duo of Denish Omedi and Moses Aliro scored for the David Obua’s side with Awany taking the Man of the match honors. In total, 11 goals were scored in the four Saturday fixtures with each fixture having two goals at least. The much exciting tournament invented last year to celebrate ancestry, rally patriotism, spread and market the game across the country and to unearth new raw talent continued on Sunday with four fixtures. The winner gets Shs32m from the Shs100m total prize money staked by FUFA.
