The inaugural Guinness All-star Rugby Floodlights tournament is on this evening at Kyadondo rugby club and there is already excitement from the rugby faithful. Eight teams will grace the inaugural edition with team captains free to select a maximum of 12 players of their choice. The tournament is intended to have fun and rugby on floodlights with a lot of prizes at stake. Speaking at the launch on Wednesday, Solomon Moloa, the Guinness Kampala Regional Sales Manager revealed that: “We are always committed to see Sevens Rugby progress that is why this time round we have different cash prizes staked. This will promote competitiveness hence our fans will enjoy the game.” Guinness unveiled that Shs8m will be the total cash prize on top of trophies and medals –with the winner taking Shs3.2m, runners up taking Shs2.3m as second runners up take Shs1.5m. The Most Valuable Player (MVP) will take home Shs0.5m. Blufox Media, Nxt Radio, Kratos Sports, City Ambulance, and Uganda Rugby Union are the other partners on the event.
