FUFA Big league fans have to treat this week as there is full quota of midweek matches on offer, as the race to the end of the season continues. Ahead of this Thursday action, Wakiso Giants and Proline FC are enter with icing on the cake as both sides are bound to seal promotion to the premier league with victories. Below, Wakiso Giants and Proline in Elgon and Rwenzori group respectively, there is fierce fight for a play-off spot. Rwenzori leaders will look to secure the three points needed when they host second placed Kansai Plascon at the StarTimes stadium, Lugogo this afternoon and will be much boosted by the 2-1 away win over fellow FUFA Big league side Kyetume in the semi final, first leg of the 2018/19 Stanbic Uganda Cup on Monday in Nakisunga. Speaking after the match, Proline coach Shafik Bisaso noted that they played with reserved energy in preparation for today’s encounter since promotion is the number one priority on their agenda before winning their first Uganda Cup title. “Our priority is earning promotion to premier league and that is why we played with reserved energy against Kyetume; with a defensive approach,” he noted. Wakiso Giants welcome back Norman Ogik returns from injury. Yasin Mugabi and Yasin Mugume returned to training but game comes too early for them while Karim Ndugwa is suspended for the game after accumulating three Yellow cards.
“We anticipate a tough game since they are fighting for relegation but the boys are ready and are aware of what is at stake and I am optimistic we shall complete the job,” noted Ibrahim Kirya, the Wakiso Giants Coach.
