Nile breweries, through their flagship brand, Nile Special have unveiled a campaign dubbed ‘We Are Uganda United’ to tap into sports, especially football’s ability to transcend any divides.

The campaign was launched on Thursday at Lugogo hockey grounds in the presence of Nile Special, FUFA, NCS officials, Cranes players, media and other invited guests.

“As the official beer partner of the Uganda Cranes, we are sending out a rallying cry to not only our consumers but to all the fans to Unite behind the Cranes as they take to the continental stage in the biggest football tournament in Africa,” said Nile Breweries Marketing Director Majok Amou, who added that as a brand that is truly made of Uganda, Nile Special will always celebrate anything that makes us proud as a nation.

At the same event, Nile Special also launched an under the crown promotion through which 11 lucky Cranes fans will be flown to Egypt to watch the team live in action.

To take part in the promotion, one is required to buy a Nile Special, check under the crown and SMS the code to 8008 and enter the draw for a chance to win.

The Fufa marketing director Rogers Byamukama was grateful to Nile Special for the brand’s continued support towards the Uganda Cranes before promising that Fufa will do the best in preparations ahead of the tournament in Egypt. Nile Special, the Uganda Cranes beer partners also flew fans to Gabon to cheer the team in the Afcon 2017 finals. Uganda opens the AFCON 2019 finals with DRC on June 22 before playing Zimbawe four days later. The Sebastien Desabre side will complete their group stage task against hosts Egypt on June 30.
