St Cyprian High School, Kyabakadde credibly landed their second basketball victory in the ongoing 2019 Fresh Dairy Secondary school games in Mbale.
The emerging force thumped Mbale SS 46-29 on Tuesday in a one-sided morning basketball game.
James Dienzera scored game high 19 points as he won the hearts of a passionate cheering crowd.
Exciting Martin Paluku Sasssita scored five points and rebounds whilst South Sudanese Mathew Mayom and Chikuru Balorebwami each added four points.
Jacob Jose Nkaja, who came on in the last quarter, managed three points. Another substitute Michael Bangrana scored once. Niedas Wambisha led the scoring business for Mbale S.S with 14 points. Gideon Eotu Ebwana added nine as Vincent Teko had four points before Frank Kagoma registered two points.
This was St Cyprian’s second win of the tournament after the opening day 51-42 victory over Seeta High, Green Campus. St Cyprian High School Kyabakadde’s final group stage game will be played today (Wednesday) against Seroma Christian High School.
“I thank the character of the players and the input by the technical team and we are ready to battle any giant,” noted Hamid Kasozi, the head of technical at St Cyprian High School, Kyabakadde. The games will continue this Wednesday in basketball (boys and girls), hockey, football (girls), rugby (boys), lawn tennis, badminton and table tennis.
The Fresh Dairy Games were launched on Monday afternoon by the Budiope Member of Parliament, Hon. Robert Musoke alongside Omara Apita, the Commissioner of physical education in the ministry of education and sports.
