Ghana was beaten by Zambia 03-50 in the opening fixture on Tuesday, having managed just a single penalty through Yahuza Tahiru whose points were the first in the game before Zambia responded in style to earn victory.

Ghana now faces another uphill takes as they face hosts Uganda, who looks ahead of the clash.

Uganda’s assistant Coach Leonard Rwitare is unmoved by Ghana’s Tuesday result, but instead focuses on making his side turn up is the most desirable fashion.

“I do not expect complacency, we have trained hard and look forward to victory,” he said. Rwitare said that Ghana’s poor display could have been a result of fatigue having played on arrival. Uganda will face Namibia on Sunday.

Group C Winners will be promoted to Group B where they will face Madagascar and a winner in that group plays Kenya in Group A.

The Barthes Cup is the exclusive Rugby Africa junior championship comprised of 12 teams in three groups of four.
