Kampala City deaf football club chairman Noah Ahereza believes that sponsorship from online betting firm Betway-Uganda is timely and will do much to motivate more deaf persons to play football in a bid to advance inclusion.

Kampala City deaf are the favourites to defend the title at the seventh edition of National deaf holiday challenge cup (NDHC) that climaxes this Saturday in Soroti under the theme: “advancing for inclusion through football”.

Betway, who are also Express FC, Betway Power basketball club and Kobs rugby club headline sponsors, supported Kampala City Deaf FC with branded kits, footballs, refreshments among others.

“As Betway, we believe in a happy all inclusive society and we are happy to partner with Kampala deaf football club as disability is not inability,” noted Clive Kyazze, the Betway-Uganda Marketing and public relations manager after handing over the sponsorship package.

The holiday challenge cup aims at combating social issues such as discrimination, inequalities, negative stereotypes and exclusion of deaf people as Persons With Disabilities (PWDs).

The three-day NDHC was held in Hoima district last year and 12 teams from different districts; each with at least 18 players and 5 officials took part.
