Betway Power have continued to disappoint early in the season living short of fans expectations after the dismal performance in this season’s FUBA National Basketball League (NBL).
The 68-71 loss to UCU Canons on Wednesday night added salt into the wound.
Betway Power has now lost three matches after falling short against champions City Oilers on the season’s opening night, then lost to JKL Dolphins and latest against UCU Canons.
Fresh from beating Oilers over the weekend, UCU Canons are increasing their championship stakes and the Betway Power victory marked another statement.
UCU’s Titus Lual managed 14 points while Fadhil Chuma had 10 points and 16 rebounds. David Deng, who masterminded Oilers downfall, had 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Fayed Baale and Jerry Kayanga managed 8 points each. Power’s new signing Syrus Kiviiri managed a game high 25 points and 7 rebounds though his splendid performance was not enough to earn the Betway-sponsored side victory. Philip Ameny managed 10 points before Joseph Ikong’s late layup was disallowed en route to basket by Deng. He also missed a free throw later. Power returns to action on Sunday against Sharing Youth while UCU takes on JKL on May 25.
