KCCA FC manager Mike Mutebi and 2018/19 season club top scorer Patrick Henry Kaddu were named the best coach and player respectively for the months of April and May. The duo was recognized by Uganda premier league (UPL) partners Pilsner Lager on Monday at Kati Kati restaurant, Lugogo.
This is the second Pilsner monthly award for Mutebi, who won his first in December, while Kaddu scooped his maiden monthly gong. Both Kaddu and Mutebi were pivotal in the concluding period of the season as KCCA claimed their 13th premier league title.
Mutebi, who beat Tooro United’s Wasswa Bbosa to accolade, helped KCCA to win four of the six league games played in the two months.
“I thank UPL and sponsors Pilsner Lager for the award. These awards motivate us to work harder and it is a good feeling when your efforts are recognized. We work for these accolades and in the long run, the standard of football and competition improves,” noted Mutebi.
Kaddu meanwhile beat Tooro United’s Allan Kayiwa to the gong after collecting two Man of the match accolades in the two months, on top of scoring six league goals.
“Kaddu has earned everything through hard work and I want to congratulate him,” Mutebi commended his striker. Away from the accolades, Mutebi and Kaddu took home Shs1m each courtesy of Pilsner Lager.
