Russian Ivan Nedelko is the man to beat at the ITF World Tennis Tour – M15 in Kampala after beating Lithuanian player Julius Tverijonas to win week two Singles over the weekend in straight sets 6-1, 6-4. The 33 year old, currently seeded at the 35th spot in ITF World Tennis Singles Rankings, also won week one after beating Irish star Simon Carr in straight sets 6-2, 6-4 during the final. Nedelko who won three of the four circuits during last year’s edition at the same venue, beat Burundi’s Guy Irandukunda 6-1, 6-2 in the semi-finals on Saturday. “It feels good to win again. I have enjoyed because the tournament is competitive, I look forward to the third and final circuit,” noted Nedelko. To reach the final, Tverijonas, who eliminated Uganda’s David Oringa in week one qualifier, beat Seed five and week one finalist Simon Carr 7-5, 7-5 in the thrilling semi final. In the Doubles, Indian duo of Chandrasekar Anirudh and Kaliyanda Poonacha Niki beat Simon Carr (Ireland) and Storrie Ryan James (England) 6-3, 6-4 in the final.
