Stanbic Uganda Cup

Proline vs Bright Stars, Masaka
Fee: Shs5000, Shs20000
Coach Shafik Bisaso believes that the availability of defender Mustafah Mujuzi and striker Bright Anukani is a big boost for Proline ahead of the 2018/19 Stanbic Uganda Cup final this Saturday at Masaka recreational grounds.
The duo was due to miss the club’s first ever Cup final due to national team duty as they were set to travel with the Cranes on Thursday for the 2019 Cosafa championship in South Africa.
However, the Cranes (Cosafa team) travels were postponed to Wednesday next week and thus their availability. Mujjuzi is a strong pillar in Proline defense and his absence was a blow to the newly promoted side.
Anukani meanwhile was voted the 2018/19 season FUFA Big league Most valuable player (MVP) after capping his exciting season with the goal that gave Proline the Big league title after a 1-0 win over Wakiso Giants in the final.
In the same vein, Bright Stars will also have their skipper Nelson Senkatuka available. The striker, who was the second top scorer in the concluded StarTimes Uganda premier league with 16 goals, three behind Police FC’s Juma Balinya, was also bound to travel with the Cranes for Cosafa championship that starts this Saturday till June 8 in Durban, South Africa.
Proline ejected another newly promoted side Kyetume FC in penalties at the semi finals while Bright Stars dumped joint record ten-time winners Express FC in similar fashion.
The winners of the Stanbic bank-sponsored tournament have Shs40m cash prize on top representing the country in the CAF Confederations Cup next season while the runners up are assured of Shs20m. KCCA won the title last year after 1-0 win over Vipers SC in the final.
