Two female Uganda runners; Stella Chesang and Sarah Chelangat qualified for the World Championships in Doha and 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan remarkable performance at the FBK (Fanny Blankers-Koen) Games in Hengelo, Netherlands.
At the World championship and Olympics qualifier event, Chesang finished 8th to break the National record in the 5,000 metres. She finished with 15:00:72 breaking Dorcus Inzikuru’s 15:05:30 record.
In the same way, Chelangat finished 9th with 15:01:39 time.
Chesang, also 2018 Commonwealth Gold medalist is Uganda’s top hope in the 17th IAAF World Athletics Championships due September 28-October 6 at Khalifa International Stadium in Doha, Qatar.
The 2020 Summer Olympics commence on July 24 till August 9 in Tokyo, Japan.
