With no point after three fixtures, Kampala Province will be seeking for maiden win of the campaign when they host Busoga Province this Saturday at the Betway Muteesa II stadium, Wankulukuku as the 2019 FUFA Drum tournament returns this weekend with three fixtures on Saturday and five on Sunday. The last season quarter finalists have lost all the three opening fixtures –which leaves them languishing at the foot of Group A with no point, while Tooro, Busoga, and Rwenzori province respectively top the group on goal difference with five points. Ahead of this weekend’s action, the pressure will be on Wasswa Bbosa, the hosting Coach, after losing to the Charles Ayiekoh’s side 2-1 at the St Joseph Vocational Institute, Kamuli in the first leg early last month. Richard Wandyaka scored a brace for Busoga while Nelson Senkatuka scored Kampala’s consolation. Kampala finished the game a man less after Godfrey Lwesibawa’s red carded. “We are going for victory. We were struggling financially last season but this time, well wishers have pumped money in the team and the motivation in the team is high,” noted Ayiekoh, whose 3rd placed side has won once and drawn twice respectively. In the other group game, second placed Rwenzori will be hosting table leaders Tooro United in the battle for top spot at the Nyakasanga grounds, Kasese. The two sides played to a one-all stalemate last time out at the St Paul Seminary grounds, Kabalore. A win for either side ensures the summit if Busoga does not win against Kampala with a better goal margin. Elsewhere, Sebei Province will be seeking revenge when they host Lango at the Kiprotich stadium, Kapchorwa. Sebei lost 6-1 when they visited Lango last month at the Lango Sports grounds, Lira. Allan Okello scored a hat trick in addition to Joackim Ojera’s brace and another from Denis Omodi while Eric Simiyu scored Sebei’s consolation. The FUFA Drum tournament was invented last season by the federation to celebrate ancestry, spread the game, rally patriotism, talent scouting and encourage local sports tourism. The government and FUFA fund the tournament which has Shs100m in cash prize.
