Kefa Kisala has been confirmed by the newly promoted Uganda Premier League side Wakiso Giants FC as their new Head coach. Kisala, a CAF ‘A’ licensed coach signed a 2-year renewable contract that takes immediate effect as the first Purple Sharks coach in the premier league.
The former Uganda Cranes assistant coach, who has been ‘jobless’ since his sacking at Express mid last season, will be assisted by James Odoch (CAF B license) and others who will unveiled later.
The former URA and BUL coach replaces Ibrahim Kirya whose contract was renewed, together with his entire assistants, after leading the side to premier league promotion with only one loss. At least 20 local and foreign coaches had applied for the job that was advertised with the former Uganda Cranes left winger beating coaches with higher qualifications like UEFA Pro and UEFA A. Some of the local based coaches who expressed interest in the job Moses Basena, Douglas Bamweyana, Ibrahim Kirya among others while former Vipers head coaches Javier Martinez and Jorge Da Costa were among the foreign coaches that applied for the job. Wakiso Giants is one of the most organized clubs in the country with well structured system of administration.
