“Uganda Parliament would like to wish Captain Denis Onyango the best and I wish you a very big victory at the opening match against DRC. A number of MPs will be in Egypt to give you support; we love you and we are counting on you to bring the glory back home,” Kadaga, also Kamuli district Woman MP told the Cranes in the video.

Uganda Cranes delegation led by FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo left Abu Dhabi for Cairo, Egypt on Monday afternoon.

The Cranes have been camped in Abu Dhabi for three weeks and they underwent intensive training in a climate similar to that of Egypt.

Theteam had two international build-up games in UAE –playing to a disappointing barren stalemate against little known Asian country Turkmenistan and stunning Ivory Coast with 1-0 win on Sunday courtesy of Miya Faruku first-half penalty goal.

Cranes Head Coach Sebastian Desabre cherishes the three ‘wonderful’ weeks of intense preparations in Abu Dhabi. Uganda’s best performance at the continental showpiece was losing to Ghana in the final at the 1978 edition.
