The Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga has extended support to Uganda Cranes ahead of the 2019 AFCON finals kickoff this Friday.
The Cranes are due to open their campaign against DRC on Saturday before facing Zimbabwe and hosts Egypt respectively in group A at the Cairo international stadium.
The Speaker, through a video recording, wished Captain Denis Onyango and the entire Cranes the best at the month-long tournament.
“Uganda Parliament would like to wish Captain Denis Onyango the best and I wish you a very big victory at the opening match against DRC. A number of MPs will be in Egypt to give you support; we love you and we are counting on you to bring the glory back home,” Kadaga, also Kamuli district Woman MP told the Cranes in the video.
Uganda Cranes delegation led by FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo left Abu Dhabi for Cairo, Egypt on Monday afternoon.
The Cranes have been camped in Abu Dhabi for three weeks and they underwent intensive training in a climate similar to that of Egypt.
