KCCA FC goalkeeper Tom Ikara has been loaned out to Mbarara-based Premier league side Mbarara City FC for 2019/20 season. The Ankole Lions confirmed the development on Friday after close to a period of negotiations between the two clubs. Ikarah, who joined KCCA from another Premier league side Busoga United (formerly Kirinya Jinja SS) will replace Ali Kimera, who was released at the end of last season.
Ikara, who the league title with KCCA last season, failed to beat Charles Lukwago in KCCA goal despite coming ahead of Jamil Malyamungu as second choice at the Lugogo-based club. With Ikarah exit, the reigning Premier league champions may bring back Hassan Matovu from Proline.

Both KCCA and Proline will be taking part in this year’s CECAFA Kagame Cup that gets underway next month. KCCA opens the campaign against Bandari FC from Kenya on July a day after Proline faces Rwanda’s APR. Ikarah will join Mbarara City after the Cecafa Kagame Cup and will wear jersey number one.
