Tooro United have continued to boost their squad ahead of the 2019/20 season kickoff due September with more new signings. The Fort portal-based side on Friday completed the signing of midfielder Derrick Tekkwo on a year deal.
The former Kitara FC player joined as a free agent and is expected to fill the void left by Mahad Yaya Kakooza, who was released by the club after the end of last season.
Tekkkwo, formerly at URA and Express FC, is the fourth fourth signing for the Wasswa Bbosa side after Charles Musiige from Nyamityobora and Water FC duo of Denis Mugerwa and Lule Gerald.
The side also renewed Timothy Musinguzi, Meddie Kibirige and Mike Kawooya contracts as they seek to better performance, having finished fourth in the StarTimes premier league last season.
So far, five players have left the club including; Eddie Ruhweza, Moses Kirumira, Godfrey Lwesibawa, Mahad Yaya Kakooza and Allan Kayiwa, who joined Vipers SC. Tooro start their pre-season training on Monday, July 1 at Kanyanya playgrounds with new players’ trials.
