Last week, Tanzanian Premier League side Kinondoni Municipal Council (KMC) FC named Jackson ‘Mia Mia’ Mayanja as their new head coach on a year contract.
The former Cranes forward, who guided Kyetume FC to the Uganda Premier league after FUFA Big league playoff, replaces Etienne Ndayiragije that joined Azam FC at the end of the season. The Dar-es-salaam based side will feature in the Tanzania Mainland Premier League season and the Caf Confederations Cup for the 2019/20 season.
Mayanja, who has since been replaced by George Nsimbe at Kyetume, will begin with the Cecafa Kagame Cup tournament in Rwanda as his new side takes on Sudan’s Atlabara FC this Friday before facing Rayon sports (Rwanda) and TP Mazembe (DR Congo) in group A.
The CAF ‘A’ licensed coach has previously been at the helm of Lyantonde (URA), Kiyovu, Bunamwaya (Vipers SC), KCC (KCCA FC), Kololo SS, Kagera, Coastal Union, Simba (Tanzania) and the Uganda Cranes as Assistant coach for over six years.
As a player, Mayanja featured for Kololo S.S, KCC FC, Al Masry (Egypt), Esperance (Tunisia) and Lowi FC (Oman).
