Centenary Bank bankrolls Seals swimming gala

Centenary bank officials hand over dummy cheque to Seals swimming club officials on Monday

Centenary Bank has confirmed Shs50m sponsorship for the 2019 Seals Invitational Swimming Championship gala due July 4-7 at the Kampala Parents School, Naguru.

Centenary bank’s Immaculate Ngulumi, the Branding and Marketing Chief Manager told the media on Monday that the bank was pleased to sponsor the gala with Shs50m which brings the institution’s total contribution to the swimming sport to over Shs200m.

“Our sponsorship will go towards helping seals with the desired logistics and media for the championship,” Ngulumi said.

“As centenary Bank, we pride ourselves in taking forefront in advancing talent especially among the young people through such partnerships. It is through such platforms that young talent is unearthed, nurtured and equipped for national, regional and international representation of our country,” she added.

Seals Swimming Club Chairperson Tefiro Sserunjogi said that this year’s gala will push swimmers to give their best in every event.

The winners have medals and trophies on Sunday, July 7. Seals Swim club won last year’s edition with Dolphins Swim Club coming second whilst Makerere University came third position.

Baseline, Dolphins, Gliders, Makerere University, Seagulls Swim Club, Sailfish and hosts Seals Swim Club Kampala have confirmed participation while Aga Khan High School-Nairobi, USIU Nairobi and PIPSA from Kenya will also be part of the action.
