The President of the Republic of Uganda Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will host the Uganda Cranes contingent that returns home tomorrow from the 2019 AFCON tournament in Egypt.
FUFA has confirmed that the function organized to congratulate the team for its performance at the continental showpiece will be held on Monday, 8th July 2019 at State House, Entebbe starting 4pm.
The contingent will leave Cairo at 10.50pm on Sunday night and arrive in Entebbe on Monday morning aboard Egypt Air.
Uganda Cranes exited the competition on Friday after falling to Senegal 1-0 at the last 16 stage.
Liverpool FC forward Sadio Mane scored the only goal for the Lions of Teranga to end Uganda’s good show at the competition that saw them reach the last 16 for the first time in 41 years since losing at the 1978 final to Ghana.
Uganda won, drew and lost of the four matches at the 2019 AFCON –an improvement from the 2017 edition where they only managed a draw and one goal in the three group stage games.
