Elgon Cup 2019, Return Leg
Saturday, 4pm
Uganda vs Kenya, Kyadondo
The return leg of the 2019 Elgon Cup return leg is scheduled for this Saturday at the Kyadondo Rugby Club and the Nile Special-sponsored Rugby Cranes who are sponsored by Nile Special will seek to hold onto their 13-16 first round away victory when they host Kenya.
Kenya has won the title 13 times against Uganda’s three –with the last coming as far as 2012. Rugby Cranes Coach Robert Seguya says that the camp is high spirits ahead of the clash “Ever since the Kisumu game in the first leg, the boys have been improving and you should expect a good show,” Seguya noted after naming his team on Wednesday.
Seguya recalled some of the senior players that missed the Kisumu trip with four changes made. Robert Masendi paves way for Ivan Magomu at fly half with Aaron Ofoyrwoth moving to his natural scrumhalf position.
Byron Oketayot is replaced by Mike Otto and it is the only change in the forwards. Philip Wokorach also returns just as outside centerMichael Wokorach, who replaces Jordan Bongomin.
After a terrible outing in Kisumu, Lady Rugby Cranes Coach Edgar Lemerigar is confident that they will step up their display in the Saturday return leg.
