Betway Kobs won their third circuit of this year’s National Rugby Series after beating Stanbic Black Pirates 25-05 in the finals last Saturday at Legends Rugby grounds.
The fourth circuit of the series was hosted by Dusupay Warriors and was dedicated to rugby players’ parents; Patrick Othieno Mileke and Deborah Sifuna Mileke, who are parents to Erasmus Aredo, Gabriel Aredo and Joseph Aredo.
Erasmus Aredo and Gabriel Aredo play for Warriors while Joseph Aredo plays for Betway Uganda-sponsored Betway Kobs.
“I want to dedicate this win to my family especially my parents. They have played a great a role in my life both on and off the pitch,” Aredo said, adding that team effort and great character was vital to his side’s victory.
The honored parents handed over the trophy to Kobs as guests of honor before they were also awarded with a Life Achievement Award.
Betway Kobs have won three circuits out of four with the other won by Pirates. The two teams have been meeting in the finals in all circuits and Betway Kobs, who have 91 points, five above second placed Pirates, have put on a favorite tag with four circuits to go.
