KCCA start CAF Champions league against African Stars

KCCA will play Namibian champions African Stars in the 2019/20 CAF Champions league preliminary round. According to the draws, KCCA travel for the first leg before hosting the return leg and winner faces the winner between Matlama FC (Lesotho) and Angola’s Atletico de Luanda for a place at the group stage.

The Preliminary Round first leg fixtures are scheduled for August 9-11 while the second leg is set for August 23-25.

The First Round, first leg fixtures will be played between September 13-15 with the return leg between September 25-27.

KCCA became the first Ugandan club to storm the group stage but could not get out of the group after finishing third behind Al Ahl and Esperance with Botswana’s Township Rollers coming last.

Only two teams qualify to the quarter finals. Last season, KCCA played in the CAF Confederation Cup and failed to reach the group stages after being stopped by AS Otoho of Congo Brazzaville at the first round.
