After an improved performance by the She Cranes in the just concluded Vitality Netball World Cup in Liverpool-England, the Uganda netball federation has turned shift to local league.
The She Cranes finished 7th out of the 16 countries that took part in this year’s tournament won by New Zealand.
Despite looking disorganized at the touchline, it was a place better of 2015 finish and also She Cranes’ best finish ever in the competition.
Despite the global achievement, the team ‘quietly’ returned home on Tuesday and local-based players will now start preparing for the national league new season that commences on August 31, 2019.
Although it is just weeks to the schooled throw-off, the fixtures and venues are yet to be confirmed. National Insurance Corporation (NIC) are the reigning champions while Makindye Netball club, Posta and Police Young are the newly promoted clubs from second division replacing relegated Blue Stars, Maroons and TLC.
