URA FC beat newly promoted Wakiso Giants 1-0 in the friendly on Monday at the Wakissha resource center, Wakiso. Cromwel Rwothomio scored the only goal of the match in the 15th minute.
The Tax Collectors have so far signed eleven players in the current transfer window as Coach Sam Ssimbwa seeks to build a competitive title winning squad for the 2019/20 season.
The latest arrival is David Bagoole from Busoga United on a year deal to fill the void left by Siraje Sentamu who joined Vipers SC. The midfielder had earlier been of Vipers SC interest after impressing with the Jinja side last season.
Bagoole will stay with the Tax Collectors till 2020. He joins youthful striker Dada Ibrahim Juma, who also signed a 3-year deal with URA this week from relegated Nyamityobora FC as the 11th signing of the Sam Ssimbwa side.
Dada was Namityobora’s best player last season, having scored eight goals including a famous hat trick against Police at Lugogo.
He joins John Ssemazzi and Anwar Ntege –the other new signings to help URA add on the 28 goals they scored last season in the premier league.
URA has also signed Ashraf Mandela, Samuel Mwaka, Brian Majwega, Ivan Sserubiri, Mikidad Senyonga, Ivan Ntege and Hassan Kalega in a big to better last season third place finish in the premier league.
URA will visit Mbarara City on August 2 in the opening round of the Pilsner Super 8 tournament at the Kakyeka stadium while Wakiso Giants host KCCA FC a day before at the Wakissha grounds, Wakiso.
